It’s been almost six years since spring brought me a new sister-in-law (though I’m happy to announce my youngest brother Andrew just got engaged this past week so I get to welcome and photograph another new sister this year!!!). James and I planned out an epic surprise proposal that of course included a photoshoot. We had Jessie thinking she was just doing me a favor and “modeling” for me and then just like that she had a gorgeous diamond ring on her finger. I still love her ring and admire it anytime we’re together. I’ve been working my tail off the last week getting four albums ready to enter in print competition. Meanwhile James and Jessie have been living it up in Europe sending home little tastes of their trip via Marco Polo. The videos from Austria had me in awe. I will definitely have to find myself there one day. But not today. Too many kids. Too many commitments. And sleep.
So before I go to bed and tackle life all again tomorrow, I wanted to quickly put up a post revisiting the story of James and Jessie because it’s one of my favorites from the past. These are the spreads from the giant, beautiful wedding album I made for them three years ago. If you do the math on that you’ll figure out that they didn’t get their album right after their wedding. I point that out only to say if you’re one of my past clients who didn’t get an album (because it didn’t used to be required like it is now…I was dumb and young) it’s never too late to order one. Email me for pricing details. You will never regret investing in a professional wedding album. It’s something you’ll enjoy for years to come and then will pass down for generations. Can you say the same about the $$$ you dropped on your most recent phone purchase…haha.
Now speaking of generations, James and Jessie don’t have kids…yet. But Jessie does have two lovely siblings, Cole and Summer, who have recently both found themselves engaged. It’s a double wedding summer for the Christensen family! I’m lucky enough to get to do some photography for them. In fact I’m texting with Jessie’s sister Summer right now lining up her engagement session for tomorrow. The forecast says sunshine which seems only fitting if your name is Summer right?! I’m pumped for the magic that I’m sure will be happening….
Anyway, I should go to bed now. But I just wanted to say I’m alive and well and spending every spare moment I get on my TWO print cases for upcoming district competition. PPA is now offering a Master of Wedding Photography Degree, so of course I need to earn that! The trick is I can only enter images I’ve taken ON the wedding day. Which means all of my beautiful blacktie session work is off limits so that’s severely limited my options as far as telling a full story goes, but I’ve been digging through the past and finding the weddings where I did the bride and groom portraits day of and it’s coming together nicely. I’ll be sharing my hard work one day, but probably not until late summer after everything is judged. So until then, here’s my best attempt at coaxing spring to stay awhile and play. Look how much fun we have when the blossoms are out! I am so ready to play…
