It’s President’s Day and I shot this session on President’s Circle at the University of Utah, so I’m thinking that means today is the day to share it with you! And I wanted to sneak this into my February line up because this couple has it going on in all the right ways. Their relationship is kind and fun and sexy and practical and REAL. They are both so down to earth and I’m honored to call them friends. I’m also proud to say Kris is my family photographer! I’m planning to share with you very soon the incredible images she created for us this past fall. They are all over my home and bring me a smile daily, but more about that in an upcoming post.
To celebrate 20 years of marriage, Kris and Rulon attended Dapper Days at Disneyland. So of course we had to shoot this anniversary blacktie session in those dapper outfits. And though they are a costume of sorts, if you know these two at all it’s easy to see this is the real Kris and Rulon in so many ways. Because Kris is a photographer, I shot her session on her own memory card (and mine…I have two slots in my camera) so immediately after the session she was able to take every image home and cull through them as desired. Today I am sharing the album spreads SHE created from this session, so the design work will feel slightly different than normal, but it’s exactly how Kris wanted it (and since we both appreciate classic editing, very similar to my style).
In addition to this album, Kris also made up a few different canvases from this session that hang in her bedroom. That is exactly the finished product experience I love to provide with these celebration sessions: wall art AND a custom designed book. So now I’m going to let this session do the talking. It was short and sweet and followed up with dinner together at Porcupine Grill (hello amazing nachos) so I would do it again in a heart beat!
