My sister is moving to Iowa in less than a week. I’m so excited for her to move on with life (she’s been stuck here single parenting for three months since Ryan had to start work and they needed to find a house) but also so sad to see her go. My consolation is that in reality, we’re both busy with our kids and didn’t get to hang out in person often, so mostly we maintain our relationship via Marco Polo. So that won’t have to change. But I know family parties won’t be the same without her and my kids are already lamenting her kids not being around. Playing with cousins via technology just isn’t quite the same as in person. BUT onward and upward. I know she’s going to love having her own space again and a husband with a 9-5 job. I have no doubt being far from home will stretch her in new ways and allow her the chance to blossom and grow to be even more awesome than she already is. That’s the whole point of life and change right?
She asked if I would photograph her littles one more time before they moved. Renee wasn’t so on board with the idea as you’ll see, but Marshall was a gem. Marco Polo said Marshy got his hair cut Sunday, so these long locks are no more, but we’ve immortalized them with these pictures so it’s all good! Big blue eyes and the cutest man bun you ever saw? Check. Then there’s Renee who actually looks a lot like me as a child and runs around sporting my type 3 personality as well. So really, Laura won’t be able to miss me because she’s got Renee to tell her how to live just like old times.
We photographed this session in her in-laws gorgeous Deweyville home that had lovely light and clean space to play with. And purple juice for Renee because that’s where it’s at in life apparently.
Last spring I photographed her family and I can’t remember if I ever shared her finished book with you, so those spreads are below as well. It’s a Whiteford celebration day. We love you so much Laura and Ryan and littles. We wish you all the best on your new adventure. Know that you WILL be missed!!
This mountain shot will seem random but it’s the view from my parent’s backyard in Deweyville. I know Laura will miss these mountains a lot so I had to put them here for her to remember!
And now we jump back in time to May 2018 when all the world was green, even Utah.
Hey Ottumwa! You’re getting one of Deweyville’s finest. Be nice okay?!
